Abstract Differences in the pattern of morphological integration can influence directly or indirectly the action of natural selection, affecting macroevolutionary patterns of a lineage. In the present project I propose the investigation of the effect of the magnitude of morphological integration in the skull on the phenotypic diversification within Caniformia, a phenotypically and ecologically diversified group, employing morphometrics, quantitative genetics and phylogenetic comparative methods. Thus, I intend to evaluate if it is possible to predict patterns of diversification and phenotypic space occupation from patterns of morphological integration (AU) | |
