Carlos Henrique Gileno is a Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at São Paulo State University (UNESP), Araraquara campus, where he also serves as a core faculty member of the Graduate Program in Social Sciences, advising master's and doctoral students.His career is dedicated to the study of the formation of Brazilian political and social thought. His main line of research explores the intersection of history, politics, and literature to analyze moments of crisis and transition in Brazil. This approach is reflected in his publications, such as Lima Barreto e a condição do negro e do mulato na Primeira República (Annablume, 2010) [Lima Barreto and the Condition of Black and Mulatto People in the First Republic] and Perdigão Malheiro e a crise do sistema escravocrata e do Império (Annablume, 2013) [Perdigão Malheiro and the Crisis of the Slave System and the Empire].In addition to his work as a researcher, he is an active figure in the academic community, serving as Head of the Interdisciplinary Study Group on Culture and Development (GEICD), Editor-in-Chief of the Sem Aspas Journal, and a member of the Brazilian Association of Science Editors (ABEC).He holds a PhD (2003) and a Master's degree (1997) in Social Sciences from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), as well as a BA (1994) and a Licenciatura (teaching degree, 1993) in Social Sciences from UNESP (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
