Birthplace: Brazil

Associate Professor at São Paulo State University (UNESP), Institute of Biosciences, Languages and Exact Sciences, São José do Rio Preto campus (SJRP), where he has served since his appointment. He has been the leader of the Laboratory of Materials for Sustainability (LabMatSus) since 2014, a CNPq-certified research group that develops innovative solutions in materials science. He maintains institutional affiliations as a Full Member of the Brazilian Materials Research Society (SBPMat-Brazil-MRS) and as an Effective Associate Member-Researcher-PQ of the Brazilian Chemical Society (SBQ). He possesses extensive experience in academic management, having coordinated the Graduate Program in Chemistry at UNESP-SJRP from 2021 to 2025 and the Undergraduate Chemistry Program at the same institution from 2017 to 2020. Previously, he served as a Collaborating Professor in Transmission Electron Microscopy at the Physical Chemistry Department of UNESP-Araraquara from 2011 to 2013. His academic background includes a habilitation (livre-docência) in Inorganic Chemistry from UNESP-SJRP (2019), a Ph.D. (2011) and M.Sc. (2007) in Chemistry from UNESP, Institute of Chemistry at Araraquara. He holds a Teaching License (2005) and Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (2004) from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), where he began his academic career. He works primarily in the areas of Inorganic Chemistry and Materials Science, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of advanced materials, including metal oxide semiconductors, metal-organic frameworks, nanostructures, and composites with graphene and derivatives. His research concentrates on developing innovative sensors for detecting volatile organic compounds, with diverse applications encompassing environmental monitoring, analysis of exhaled gases in human breath, and detection of microbial activity, contributing to significant advances in the fields of health, environment, and materials.
