Graziela Bortz is a tenured professor of music analysis, theory, and perception and Director of the Institute of Arts at Unesp. In 2024, she conducted postdoctoral research funded by FAPESP (Proc. 2023/03052-3) at the University of Padua (Italy) on musicians' short-term memory, collaborating on the multicenter project MusicEnsemble, under the supervision of Massimo Grassi of the Department of Psychology. The book, "Musicking the Margins: Selves (Re)Made in Brazilian Community and University Music Programs," in partnership with Professor Beatriz Ilari (USC-California), is in the final stages of revision and has a contract to be published by Oxford University Press. She was recently awarded by FAPESP (Proc. n. 2025/07092-5) to coordinate the Center for Science for Development (CCD) in music for 5 years, with a bold research project entitled: Mental health of adolescents and young music students: A mixed study at Guri and the São Paulo State School of Music/EMESP - Tom Jobim. She was a French horn player (OSPA and Theatro Municipal de São Paulo), pedagogical coordinator at EMESP-Tom Jobim and currently collaborates as a reviewer for the journals: SIMCAM, Percepta, ANPPOM, Opus, Hodie, Psychology of Music, Plosone, among others.
