Dr. Maria Domingues holds a degree in Human Medicine from São Paulo State University(UNESP) (1986), and studied her medical residency in Pathology at the same institution(1989). She further specialized in Hematopathology at the State University of Campinas(UNICAMP) (1991) and received her doctoral degree in Pathology in 2006, after returningto Botucatu Medical School (FMB-UNESP) as an assistant professor in 2004. From 1991 to2014, she planned and established the Hematopathology Laboratory for the Hemocenterand the Center for Oncological Research in Santa Catarina, where she also served as chiefpathologist. During this period, she implemented the fine-needle aspiration out-patientclinic and immunohistochemistry techniques in public healthcare in Santa Catarina. Shepursued postdoctoral studies in Head and Neck Cancer (2009) at the Center for Studiesand Research of A. C. Camargo Hospital, São Paulo. As head of department, in 2011, sheimplemented the International Accreditation of the American College of Pathology (CAP)in the Pathology Department (FMB-UNESP). She is currently an assistant professor andworks as an advisor to the Deans Office (2017) and coordinator of the School ofLeadership and Management of UNESP (2018).
