He has a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1993), a master's degree in Entomology from the University of São Paulo (1995) and a doctorate in Entomology from the University of São Paulo (2000) and post-doctorate from The Ohio State University (USA). He is currently a full professor at the Department of Biological Sciences at the São José do Rio Preto campus of UNESP-Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, where he teaches courses in the areas of Invertebrate Zoology, Entomology and Social Insects. He is a supervisor at the PPG in Biodiversity at IBILCE / UNESP. He has experience in the area of Zoology, with an emphasis on systematics and natural history of aculeate wasps, with an emphasis on Vespidae. This project aims to carry out an inventory of wasps accumulated in fragments of areas of Atlantic Forest and Pampa, highly diverse and threatened Brazilian biomes, using collection active, Malaise trap and light trap. The material will later be sorted and catalogued.
This project aims to carry out an inventory of aculeate wasps in fragments of areas of Cerrado, the second largest biome in the country, and Caatinga, the only biome exclusively Brazilian.
