Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP). Campus de Rio Claro. Instituto de Geociências e Ciências Exatas (IGCE)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

He holds a bachelor's degree in Physics from the Federal University of São Carlos and a master's and doctorate in Sciences from USP, specializing in Astronomy, the latter defended in March 2003. He completed two postdoctoral fellowships (FAPESP) at Unesp/Rio Claro (2005 and 2006). He led the FAPESP Young Researcher project at Unesp/Rio Claro (2007-2010). RDIDP at the Institution since 2009. Full Professor in 2018. He has international experience, having presented papers at conferences in the USA, Germany, Portugal, England, Switzerland, Italy, and Uruguay. He is a member of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and has the asteroid (30452) Callegari named after him by the IAU. He has scientific experience in Astronomy, Physics, and Applied Mathematics, with an emphasis on Dynamics of Planetary Systems, the Solar System and extrasolar systems, and Differential Equations. His research focuses on resonant dynamics of natural satellites and planetary systems, as well as numerical stability analysis techniques for systems of differential equations. His work focuses on the following areas: i) Astronomy: Dynamics and Evolution of Solar System and extrasolar planets and satellites: mean-motion resonances; rotational dynamics: spin-orbit resonances; and secondary resonances. ii) Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Physics: Differential Equations and applications. Numerical integration of systems of differential equations in classical mechanics and celestial mechanics; numerical Fourier Transform techniques; iii) Physics: Numerical studies of stability and chaos in dynamical systems via dynamical mapping by frequency analysis.
