George Emanuel Avraam Matsas

Full Professor at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the Sao Paulo State University, CNPq senior researcher and member at the Academy of Sciences of the Sao Paulo State. Works on the interface between gravity and quantum mechanics. He had several works highlighted in forums such as Science, Nature, and Physical Review Focus. Several of his former undergraduate and MSc research students were later accepted into leading Universities such as Cambridge (UK), Perimeter Institute (Canada), Maryland (USA), among others. Among his former DSc students, some were awarded by the Brazilian Physical Society and Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel with prizes of Best Thesis in Physics and several of them develop successful independent careers with works highlighted by societies such as the American Physical Society (APS).
