Graduated in Biological Sciences from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP (1983), Master in Agronomy (Agricultural Microbiology) from Universidade de São Paulo (1988), Specialization period at Colorado State University (1992), PhD in Agronomy (Genetics of Microorganisms) by the University of São Paulo (1995) and post-doctorate by the Consejo de Investigacion Superior (CSI), Granada, Spain (2008). He is currently an Associate Professor at the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP, Ilha Solteira Campus. He has experience in the area of Microbiology, with an emphasis on Microbiology and Biochemistry of Soil, acting mainly on the following themes: quality indicators, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, cerrado, recovery of degraded areas, tree species and organic waste.
