She holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, and a Master's and a PhD degree in Applied Microbiology, from São Paulo State University - Unesp, campus Rio Claro. She spent two years of her doctorate at the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences, Germany where she later worked as a Postdoc fellow for another two years. She is currently professor at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Unesp campus Araraquara. She is the PI of the research group SynBio Araraquara and the primary PI of the Unesp Brazil team at iGEM. Research interests: synthetic biology; regulation of gene expression in microorganisms; heterologous gene expression. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
