Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP). Campus de Ilha Solteira. Faculdade de Engenharia (FEIS)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

He holds a Bachelors degree in Pharmacy from the University of Sorocaba (2009), a Masters degree (2011) and a PhD (2014) in Functional and Molecular Biology from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), as well as a Habilitation (Livre-Docência) in Biochemistry from UNESP (2024). He completed postdoctoral training at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL), Portugal (20142015), under the supervision of Dr. Manuel Bañobre-López, and at the Center for Natural and Human Sciences (CCNH) at UFABC (20162017), under the supervision of Prof. Daniele R. de Araujo. He is currently an Associate Professor (MS 5.3), Vice-Head of the Department of Physics and Chemistry at the School of Engineering of Ilha Solteira UNESP, and Coordinator of the Multiuser Microscopy Laboratory of Ilha Solteira (LaMIS). He is a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in Materials Science (FEISUNESP), advising undergraduate research, masters and doctoral students, and also a permanent faculty member of the National Professional Masters Program (PROF-Água).He maintains scientific collaborations with several research groups from national institutions (UEMS, UFMS, UNICAMP, USP, among others) and international institutions across multiple countries (Italy, Panama, Czech Republic, Portugal, Spain, Finland, New Zealand, India, the United States, Argentina, etc.). He coordinates research projects funded by national research agencies (FAPESP, CNPq, among others), as well as RD initiatives in partnership with industry. He currently serves on the editorial boards of Frontiers in Nanotechnology (Frontiers), Plant Nano Biology (Elsevier) and Journal of Hazardous Materials Advances (Early Career Editorial Board), and acts as a reviewer for several high-impact journals in the fields of Materials Science, Nanotechnology and Environmental Science. Among his awards and recognitions, he is listed among the worlds most influential researchers in the fields of Chemistry and Environmental Sciences (subarea: Nanoscience Nanotechnology), according to PLOS Biology. He has also received a Recognition Motion from the City Council of Ilha Solteira (2025), the 2019 Inventors Award (Inova Unicamp), the ACS Publications Certificate of Recognition for outstanding peer-review performance (2018), the ICBP2011 Junior Scientist Travel Award (UCSD, USA, 2011), and second place in the Monsanto Agroenvironmental Award (2010), among others. He has experience in Chemistry and Biochemistry, working mainly with Nanotechnology, focusing on the development of micro- and nanoparticulate carrier systems composed of polymers, lipids and metals for the controlled release of bioactive compounds (drugs and pesticides). He also investigates the environmental and agricultural impacts of these carrier systems. His work has received more than 14,300 citations (H Index=42; Google Scholar) and involves the use of analytical techniques such as liquid chromatography, atomic absorption spectroscopy, electron and atomic force microscopy, as well as photon correlation spectroscopy, among others.
