Birthplace: Brazil

Graduate in Biological Sciences at Universidade Estadual de Maringá - UEM (2006), Master's of Science (2009) and Doctorate (20136) in Plant Biology at Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP , and Post-Doc fellow (2014) at UEM. Currently I am Assistent Professor at UNESP, Coastal Campus (São Vicente city, São Paulo State) teaching at Undergraduate (Biological Sciences Course) and Graduate (Graduate Program in Coastal Biodiversity) levels. The main focus of my research is the Morphology and Structural Development of Reproductive Organs of the Flowering Plants from the Atlantic Forest, in order to provide useful data set that may improve the understanding of reproductive biology, taxonomy and systematics of the plants. I have been studying the cactus family, especially the epiphytic cacti, trying to understand their relationship with the environment (animal-plant and plant-plant interactions). I am also interested on the structural development of plants able to live in areas susceptible to severe abiotic stresses, such as deserts, semi-deserts and aquatic environments. I am willing to establish new partnerships and collaborations as well. In addition I also have interesting in Methods for Science Teacnhing (Botanical Teaching). https://odairalmeida.weebly.com/ (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
