Undergraduation at Licenciatura Em Ciências Biológicas from Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana (2005), and Doctor degree in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from Museu Nacional, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2012); Short-term Visitor Award of Smithsonian Institution. Past Area Editor of the journals Anais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências (ISSN: 0001-3765), Check List (ISSN: 1809-127X), and Oecologia Australis (ISSN 2177-6199).
