Felix M. Escalante obtained his degree in Electromechanical Engineering from the Francisco de Paula Santander University in Colombia in 2014. He was granted a Control and Automation Engineering degree from the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil, in 2020. He earned a Master's and Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, in 2016 and 2020, respectively. He gained research experience over a span of 30 months while working as a postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory of Intelligent Systems (LASI), Legged Robotics Group (LegRo), and Rehabilitation Robotics Group (ReRob) in the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Departments at the São Carlos School of Engineering (EESC) of the University of São Paulo (USP). Felix is currently a Professor Doctor in the Department of Control and Automation at the Institute of Science and Technology of Sorocaba (ICT), which is part of the São Paulo State University (UNESP). He specializes in Robotics, Mechatronics, and the Control of Dynamic Systems, with a focus on Force and Impedance Control, Robotic Rehabilitation, Robust Control and Filtering, and Markovian Jump Linear Systems.
