The purpose of the Young Investigators Grants in Emerging Research Institutions (JP-FAPESP) program is to enable the consolidation of research lines initiated by FAPESP Young Researcher grantees, as a support to the continuity of a research group created and the development of chosen themes. The Program aims to strengthen Researcher's independence and the newly created group excellence.
This Program Phase 2 (JP2) aims to consolidate research lines initiated by FAPESP Young Researcher (JP) grantees, as a support to the continuity of a research group created and the development of chosen themes.
Several technologies for biomass conversion and waste reuse for the production of new energy-efficient products are emerging. These include supercritical technology, which uses water as a solvent in a clean and sustainable process, and dry thermophilic anaerobic digestion technology that values wastewater and solid waste while producing biogas (biohydrogen / methane). In order to evalua...
This project proposes the creation of a new line of research entitled "Historiography of Anthropology". Its purpose is to promote research on the various histories of anthropology without loosing sight of its historiographical aspect and its link with the anthropological theory, which implies a constant reflection on how and why to write such histories. Eighty-seven species of miniature Characiformes, those not surpassing 26 mm of standard length, are listed. Miniature species are commonly associated to reductive morphological characters, such as bone absences and simplifications, probably due to heterochronic processes involved in the evolution of miniaturization. Paedomorphosis may be the best interpretation to those morphological, b...
Conservation of the world's coastal resources requires practical information on the biodiversity, function and resilience of its subtidal seascapes. Across the globe, dramatic declines in important habitats such as algal forests and coral reefs have occurred due to a failure to protect vulnerable areas from a growing number of anthropogenic stressors. One approach to safeguarding marine...
The respiratory tract is a reservoir of several microorganisms. The occurrence of lung diseases changes the environment and, consequently, the microbial growth in the respiratory tract. Therefore, diseases in the respiratory tract can change the resident microbiota. The association between changes in the microbiota and diseases is already known. For example, the infection by the infecti...
