The State Foundations for Research Support (FAPs), including FAPESP, and as participants of the National Council of State Research Support Foundations (CONFAP), share a Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation actions. Wishing to launch funding opportunities for researchers in the State of São Paulo, FAPESP has established cooperation agreements with some institutions, sometimes including CONFAP in the Brazilian side. The agreement with the Newton Fund, as part of the UK’s official development assistance, aims at implementing scientific and technical cooperation among researchers from the United Kingdom and the State of São Paulo, by means of funding joint research projects.
