Abstract

The objective is to investigate the insertion of the Historical-Cultural Psychology in the scope of the scientific investigation in Brazil through research groups which adopt this approach as a guide to their works. Groups registered in the Research Group Directory managed by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and which use Historical-Cultural Psychology as a theoretical foundation are the reference of this study. Publications in this field have demonstrated that this approach is in a steady increase, which appoints the need of evaluate this relevance as a theoretical reference used in Education, Psychology, as well as in other fields, and know the directions which scientific investigations based in this framework have been taking. A study of this nature has been called "state-of-the-art", i.e., eminently bibliographic researches whose propose are to map the academic production in some field of knowledge. This investigation will be divided in steps: a) bibliographic review and theoretical studies about the Historical-Cultural theory and about the "study of knowledge" research methodology; b) data collection about the research groups; c) organization, treatment and analysis of these data; d) discussion and unfolding of the collected data (production and disclosure of research report). As a result, it is intended to obtain an overview about the development and extension of the Historical-Cultural Psychology in Brazil based on research groups which use this theoretical framework. The disclosure of this overview can foster interlocution among these groups, as well as generate new investigations about issues which have been underexplored. (AU)
