Paleomagnetism and paleointensity in the Precambrian of Rio de La Plata Craton, South America

Abstract

A visiting fellowship to Prof. Augusto Rapailini, from Instituto de Geociências, Universidade de Buenos Aires (IGEBA) is requested for 6 months to foster scientific cooperation between the IAG and the IGEBA. The research plan has two main objectives: (1) paleomagnetic studies of Ediacaran successions from Rio de la Plata Craton, which are part of a FAPESP-SPRINT project signed last year; (2) paleointensity studies of Proterozoic Isla Mala granites. Both topics are covered by the Thematic Research Project 2016/06114-6, coordinated by Prof. Ricardo Trindade. During the stay, Prof. Rapalini will also contribute with four seminars addressing general topics of interest to the Earth Science community in the São Paulo state. (AU)
