The aim of this study is to identify the largest number of genes associated with healing of experimental skin wounds in the lumbar and metacarpal regions of horses, treated or not with copaiba oil, as well as the main pathways involved by the analysis of transcriptome and tissue miRNA profile. Biopsies of cutaneous wounds performed on four horses will be collected on day three and 21 after the surgical preparation of the same. Transcriptome and miRNA profile will be analyzed by microarray technique and 15 upregulated genes and 15 downregulated genes will be validated by TruSeq sequencing. (AU)
