The visit will be aimed to design, implement and preliminary validate the comparison of upper troposphere and lower stratosphere aerosols (UTLSA) measured by SAGE III/ISS and LALINET contributing lidars. It will develop the know-how and methodologies for conducting the comparison on regular basis, establishing a possible service by LALINET. That know-how and methodology will be transferred to the Brazilian counterpart regularly in charge of the LALINET operations. It is expected to be the most extensive comparison of SAGE III/ISS and lidars in the southern hemisphere. A paper will be drafted reporting the results of the comparison and proposing the necessary improvements in the initial design and implementation. (AU)
