Abstract
The topics proposed in this project represent mutual interests of the IFSC-USP lattice group and of the research group of Prof. Anastassios Vladikas, from INFN-Roma "Tor Vergata", who will visit the IFSC in August/September of the current year. Such topics are also important for the general line of research of the thematic project"Hadron Physics in Nuclear Collisions at High Energy", to which the present project is associated. In fact, the description of resultsfrom heavy-ion collisions relies significantly on nonperturbative-QCD calculations, considering the theory at nonzero baryon density and temperature. In turn, in order to achieve the required accuracy for such calculations, both at zero and nonzero values of temperature and density, it is crucial to have good knowledge of the fundamental QCDparameters, which are the strong coupling constant and the quark masses. Our project aims to discuss current lattice calculations ofthese parameters. (AU)
