Abstract

The fertility in both males and females have been a concern in humans as well as in domestic and wild animals. Nowadays, the frozen semen is the most used when we think of the biotechnology of animal reproduction, in order to maintain the quality and fertility of ejaculated after processing and storage. In addition to the loss of viable cells during cryopreservation, there is great individual variability between different sires. With the development of more selective and sensitive technologies such as mass spectrometry, it is possible to identify and quantify a large amount of proteins. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the differential fertility of bulls and freezability bovine semen between individuals from the same population, based on the sperm membrane protein profile. For this, we will use proteomics, after freezing sperm analysis and in vitro production of bovine embryos. It is intended to identify markers that help to indicate the animal's reproductive potential, they may contribute to animal breeding and production in a more agile way to quantify these markers. The use and standardization of laboratory tests to estimate the fertility of bulls semen donors proves to be of utmost importance as it will equate the needs of the current globalized market with producers and Artificial Insemination Centers. It should be noted too, that the reality of the national livestock converges the breeding programs based on Zebu animals (Bos taurus indicus) due to its great adaptability to our conditions. Thus it is necessary, studies covering fertility prediction of zebu, or even bullfighting kept in national conditions. The identification of markers for sperm fertility can increase not only the reproductive biotechnologies, but also assist in the search for new therapies for infertility, both in humans and in animals. In addition to allowing a better clarification of various elements of the same bull or the effects of cryopreservation and sexing semen (AU)
