Abstract

The Research Project aims to address a serious problem that affects the public university, the suicide cases. It is hoped to advance the knowledge about suicide through clinical psychology and in an interdisciplinary perspective with the phenomenology of life, beyond those already existing perspectives in the scientific community. The method employed will be qualitative, case study and interlocution in the relationship: students, directors, teachers and technical-administrative employee, through meetings, lectures, forums, data collection alongside IML and the University itself, teachers, parents and staff involved in cases of suicide attempts and after a suicide is committed. This is a practical work of research that aims at produce knowledge for the University and for Society. The data will be relevant because is based on an essentially a-theoretical (phenomenological) qualitative methodology that will enable to know the phenomenon emerged in the dialogues among the students and the community. Based on this situational analysis, the Office of Mental Health of the USP was developed to deal with this social problem that involves students at the public university concerning the prevention, orientation and therapeutic possibilities.
