Abstract

Short Program:1-Aromatic heterocycles: origin, natural occurrence, structure, aromaticity criteria, heterocycles as acids and bases, tautomerism, importance and applications.2- General methods of synthesis and functionalization of À-conjugated heterocyclic compounds containing thiophene, pyrrole, azoles rings and the corresponding benzo derivatives.3- Applications in optoelectronics and energy: organic conductors, non-linear optical materials (SHG, TPA), photochromic materials (molecular switches), dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), among others.4- Applications in biology and medicine: pharmaceuticals, photosensitizers for cancer photodynamic therapy (PDT), fluorescence probes for intracellular detection of analytes, diagnosis, bioimaging, among others.
