Abstract

This project is focused on detailed numerical simulations of the effect of composition and relaxation process on the nucleation of crystalline phases in supercooled glass-forming liquids. The parameters of the crystallization process - the distribution function of the number of crystals per unit volume, N(t) curves, steady-state nucleation rates and time-lags - will be simulated and compared with experimental data for crystallization of silicate glasses at different heat treatment scenarios, which are being performed at LaMaV-UFSCar and USP - Universidade de São Paulo.
