This project proposes the development of the SIMTEL, a system that will allow monitoring of physical environmental variables, such as temperature, battery voltage, fuel level, water level, equipment status, image, presence, movement, and enables bi-directional audio communication with the installation location of SIMTEL, requiring little communication infrastructure and / or small energy availability. The SIMTEL will be designed for operation in leisure boats, and may be used in other environments that require such kind of monitoring. The SIMTEL will be able to store the collected data, process and transmit them using GSM cellular data communication networks, GPRS, EDGE, 3G and 4G, and Wi-Fi, radio frequency, USB and Bluetooth interfaces networks. Another important feature of SIMTEL is the integration to embedded network NMEA2000, current communication standard for sensors and displays in ships and boats. (AU)
