Abstract
Sanchezia is a genus of the family Acanthaceae that comprises 55 species majorly Amazonian, distributed mainly at the northwestern South America, which's taxonomy has been scarcely studied in the last 50 years. It has imprecise identifications in herbaria collections and the phylogenetic relationship, infra or intergeneric, is surficial and divergent between the two studies already performed. Thus, the present work aims to revise the taxonomy of Sanchezia, and investigate its infra and intergeneric phylogenetic relationships. The species of Sanchezia, and of the related genera Suessenguthia and Trichosanchezia, will be collected in their natural habitats, in excursions to regions of Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and the Brazilian states of Acre and Amazonas. The taxonomic revision will consist of an extensive morphological analysis, including macro and micromorphological aspects of vegetative and reproductive structures, and posterior nomenclatural changes necessary. The phylogenetic analysis will ally morphological to molecular data, these to be obtained from RADseq, since the use of different molecular markers did not generate satisfactory results in previous studies.
