Abstract
Paolo Caravaggi, full-time Research Scientist at the Movement Analysis Laboratory of the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute (Bologna, Italy), presents large experience in biomechanical instrumentation and object-oriented programming, automatic processing and analysis of large data sets. His previous visit to LABIMPH (March/2018) allowed him to participate in the randomized clinical trial conducted at LABIMPH, involving exercises for runners' feet (Thematic Project 2015 / 14810-0, PhD grant FAPESP 2016/17077-4). This new visit will allow us to advance in the collaboration projects, scientific production and expand the potential participation in other research projects, and will help in the organization of the international event that LABIMPH will host (i-FAB 2020). The planned activities for this visit are: (i) Processing of the final data obtained with the Thematic Project (finalization scheduled for July 2019), interpretation and writing of international scientific articles; (ii) Supervision of the PhD student that is part of the FAPESP Thematic Project (Alessandra Bento Matias, FAPESP grant 2016 / 17077-4); (iii) Participation in the organization of the International Foot and Ankle Biomechanics Meeting (www.i-fab2020.com, São Paulo - April, 5th to 8th , 2020), which Professor Caravaggi is part of the scientific and international organization committee; (iv) Conduct a methodological study on the reliability of the IOR model of the foot during running, adopted in the Thematic Project and in the Alessandra Matias PhD project; (v) Participation in seminars on ongoing projects in LABIMPH and in discussions of articles referring to project themes, in order to try to identify possibilities for new cooperation with the researcher; (vi) Data analysis of the distribution of forces in the vaginal canal during the practice of abdominal and hipopressive exercises.
