Thea: intelligent platform for monitoring pets in homes, veterinary stalls and public feeders

Abstract

Brazil is among the countries with the largest pet population, being the second largest market in the world, whose revenues exceeded R $ 20 billion in 2018 and is expected to grow to 2019. The main expenses in this field are: food, services and care. (pet shops, health plans, hotels, etc.) to serve mainly dogs, birds and cats. With industry-standard automation 4.0, coupled with the constant pursuit of healthcare solutions and market growth, there is a promising scenario for the development of technologies for the pet market, including assistance in veterinary services. With this openness, the creation of a platform that collects data and allows animals to be assisted full time, in an automated manner, provides quick and accurate decision making. Such follow-ups may be performed in conjunction with medical and hospital care; in home / family environment, without the presence of a specialist; or outdoors, for the monitoring of abandoned or homeless animals. During this development, by building the database, we want to use these to generate automated responses that help treatments and pet care, allowing at a first moment to reduce mortality and improve working conditions of veterinarians and other professionals. that provide service to pets.
