Abstract
This project concerns the control of structure-borne noise using arrays of periodic elements. It involves two research teams, one from UNESP in Brazil, and one from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. The focus is on exchanging ideas on concurrent work in the two institutions and working together on novel developing theoretical models for both linear and nonlinear periodic structures. The collaboration will also involve laboratory work in the two institutions. It is envisaged that the work in this project will form the basis of linked projects to be submitted to FAPESP (Brazil) and MBIE (NZ). (AU)
