This Multi-User Equipment project aims to acquire a Near Infrared Spectrophotometer (NIR). Even before the approval of the National Institute of Advanced Analytical Sciences and Technology INCTAA, several researchers who are members of this institute were already developing research in analytical use of NIR spectroscopy. This research line starts in the late 1990s using instruments developed in the Instrumentation and Automation Group (GIA) at IQ-UNICAMP. In 2001, GIA acquired the first commercial spectrophotometer (BOMEM MD-260). Although it is still in operation with deficiencies in its performance, its technology is discontinued mainly due to the use of a control board and data acquisition via computer still employing an ISA type interface found in the obsolete 386 computers. In addition, the instrument fails to meet the demand of ICTAA researchers who, in large numbers, work on the topic of NIR Spectroscopy. Thus, the acquisition of a NIR Spectrophotometer is necessary to continue the development of research projects developed at INCTAA and in the training of human resources, in this area that is undoubtedly an area of analytical chemistry whose application grows significantly in various sectors of the national industry and agriculture.
