Abstract

Pulpectomy is one of the endodontic treatments of choice in pediatric dentistry, aiming to maintain the non-vital tooth until its natural exfoliation. Studies have been carried out to optimize and improve this technique through the use of mechanized instruments, reducing clinical time, avoiding operator and patient fatigue, and improving the quality of canal preparation. The aim of this study will be to evaluate ''in vitro'' the time, amount of deviations of the root canals, amount of resin wear and volume of the canals prepared with rotary files, reciprocating files and manual files, in prototypes of resinous polymer of deciduous molars. Prototyped teeth will be scanned in MicroCT equipment before the preparation of the canals and divided into 6 groups according to the instrumentation used: (G1): K files; (G2): Hedstroem pediatric dental files Angie; (G3): Easy Pro Design M files; (G4): Sequence Rotatory File; (G5): Sequence Baby File rotary pediatric dental files; (G6): Waveone Gold reciprocating files. All groups will be instrumented in a water bath at 37p and will receive irrigation at each instrument change. A new scan will be performed after instrumentation and the images will be aligned (pre and post instrumentation). The amount of channel deviation, resin wear and volume will be measured. The preparation time will be timed. Data obtained will be submitted to statistical analysis, with a significance level of 5%. (AU)
