Abstract

Nurses were exposed to an exhausting workload since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and presented consequences such as physical and mental stress, fatigue and symptoms of depression, among others. Objectives: The main objective of this study is to analyze the consequences of COVID-19 among Brazilian nurses in the years 2020 and 2021 and the secondary ones are: To estimate the risk of injuries resulting from the use of N-95 masks and face shield in the context of the pandemic of COVID-19; Estimate the risk of fatigue and the effect of its associated factors for Brazilian nurses; Estimate the risk of occurrence of symptoms of depression and the effect of its associated factors for nurses; Evaluate the prevalence of COVID-19 and its associated factors for Brazilian nurses; Assess levels of resilience and their associated factors among Brazilian nurses; Compare the consequences of COVID-19 among Brazilian nurses in 2020 and 2021; Understand the consequences of COVID-19 among Brazilian nurses. Method: Mixed-method study of sequential explanatory design, like an online survey that will be carried out in the five regions of Brazil. It aims to continue a national multicenter project, financed by CNPq, whose data collection took place in the second half of 2020. Nurses who work in the provision of care to patients in different health services in Brazil will be included. The estimated sample is 5331 nurses. Data collection will be carried out through social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp and email). The survey will be built on the SurveyMonkey platform. Data will be analyzed using statistical tests such as chi-square and/or Fisher's exact and logistic regression analysis. The 95% confidence level will be considered for all analyzes. (AU)
