Integrable defects, solitons and Backlund transformations

Abstract

The object of this project is to study the structure of non-linear equations (integrable) constructed in terms of an affine algebraic structure and the so called zero curvature representation. The algebraic methods employed are general and systematic for the construction of a series of time evolution equations known as hierarchy, its soliton solutions and Backlund transformations. The latter describes integrable defects which interpolates between two soliton solutions. (AU)
