Dissemination of the scientific knowledge at the University of São Paulo School of Nursing as as a strategy for bringing researchers and community closer.

Abstract

The dissemination of scientific knowledge is fundamental for the evolution of society, either through scientific dissemination or communication strategies. It is a process in which researchers transmit scientific knowledge resulting from the results of their research through specific channels, using a language adapted to the needs of the receiver, context and level of understanding of the recipient of the information. The transmission of knowledge is a social strategy that seeks to democratize science and allow the social construction of knowledge, while making it accessible. Accessibility is fundamental to citizen science. Dissemination strategies have been described, with an emphasis currently on the use of online strategies and electronic media that have been used to disseminate knowledge. To support actions to disseminate scientific knowledge, EEUSP has a web-site. It includes relevant information for the community in the different axes of the university: teaching, research and extension. Although the EEUSP website is structured to meet the demand for institutional information, it appears that from the research perspective, it needs a major review with restructuring of layout, accessibility, usability and content. The limitations of the website, as it is today, not only make it difficult to search for institutional information, but also compromise scientific dissemination. The application plan of the Institutional Technical Reserve portion, destined to EEUSP was prepared with the objective of supporting the collective research infrastructure with regard to scientific dissemination, in order to benefit the research projects developed at the unit and the dissemination of results . Considering the current demands related to the scientific dissemination of the unit's scientific production, the restructuring of the EEUSP website is mandatory. Such restructuring is necessary to: 1) reflect EEUSP's research identity to the national and international community, fostering the establishment of collaborative inter-institutional relationships in research; 2) Optimize the dissemination of information related to research at EEUSP; 3) Serve as an electronic research infrastructure for its researchers; 4) Support the dissemination of research actions in progress at EEUSP; and 5) Serve as a tool for disseminating scientific knowledge to society. For that, a specialized company will be contracted to produce the new website, from the project's elaboration to its implementation, so that the contents produced by the unit's research professors can be inserted and disseminated there.
