Abstract
Solar fuels such as hydrogen are gases a fuels with energetic characteristics capable of replacing fossil fuels, providing a clean emissions' environment in a tendency to economy decarbonization. Hydrogen is obtained from biogas sources, catalytic processes, hydrolysis and electrolysis. The world's most widely used sources are those using conventional technology, although there are smaller-scale sources of production based on renewable energies, such as metallurgical thermochemical cycles using solar energy. The present research project aims to study and develop a two-stage thermochemical cycle through the oxidation-reduction (redox) processes of a metal using concentrated solar energy to produce hydrogen. In order to do so, it envisages the implementation of a mini-hydrogen production plant at laboratory level, whose thermal energy comes from a high flow solar simulator, such as the one in full final phase of implantation in the SISEA laboratory, coordinated by the proponent. This proposal follows the 7th SDG - affordable and clean energy. (AU)
