Control and filtering of dynamic systems subject to abrupt and random variations

Abstract

This Research Proposal has the goal of studying Control Systems subject to stochastic variations. We consider that that dynamic is modified according to a Markov chain, which we call the mode of operation. Those systems are used, for instance, in modelling systems subject to abrupt and random faults during their operation. However, we consider that the mode of operation cannot be perfectly measured, but instead there exists a type of detector which provides to the Control System the only information regarding the main jump process of the plant. In this context, this project consider the design of Dynamic Output Feedback Controllers and Filters of continuous-time (and discrete-time) Markov jump linear systems through a multi-objective perspective by using, for instance, the l2-loo performance index, in which the peak of the controlled output is limited for an exogenous input of finite energy. Through our results, we aim at applications such as formation control for multiagent systems, as well as validating the results through simulations based on academic applications. (AU)
