This project aims to undertake a collaboration between researchers at Federal University of São Carlos, São Paulo, in Brazil and researchers at Monash University in Australia to understand how young Brazilian males experience suicidal thoughts and behaviors and the influence of their social support networks on these experiences. We will conduct a two-phase study. Phase one will involve a systematic review of the literature. Phase two will involve qualitative data collection with young Brazilian males from 13 to 24 years old. The results will contribute to suicide prevention for young males in a low-income country. (AU)
