Scientific-educational praxis and transformation of the rural public school

Abstract

This research aims to understand education and rural schools through their characteristics and their social function counting with the teachers to the construction of theoretical-practical subsidies through an innovative pedagogical-praxis permeated by critical perspectives in education. Therefore, we will create conditions for collective studies and reflections, based on Pedagogy of landless movement, Freire's Pedagogy, Historical-Critical Pedagogy and Historical-Cultural Psychology to build conditions to change country school. The research process will be constructed through the methodology developed for about thirteen years by the members of Group of Studies, Intervention and Research in School Education (GEIPEE). Such methodology is objectified by formative interventions that are characterized by collective actions "in locus" in the school, being a joint work between researchers and teachers and that is directed, in a conscious and critical way, to face the problems encountered in reality. In the end, we hope to face the problems and contribute to the pedagogical praxis of rural school teachers in a transforming perspective, based on the theoretical and practical knowledge and the implications of the consciousness and action of the research subjects.
