Symmetrical dialogues: education, cultures and territorialities

The present project aims at an effective articulation between teaching, research and extension. The intention is to reflect on a set of relationships that could stimulate future developments related to broad didactic and political possibilities in indigenous and non-indigenous schools. The starting point is a dialogue between the participants about the effective development of pedagogical policies sensitive to cultural difference. This topic is pointed out as relevant by the current legislation, in particular, by Law 11.645/2008, which modified the Law no. 10.639, of 9th January 2003, which establish the directions and basics to include in the official curriculum of teaching system the mandatory theme "Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous History and Culture". In this direction, each community involved will participate actively aiming at specific results: for the indigenous schools, a possibility of dialogue, support and production of materials, for the university, the articulation of the training triad, and for the non-indigenous school, the contribution of more information and subsidies to take the relevant legislation seriously. As a result, it is expected the production of a book with reports of the experience, two autobiographies and indications of possible future public policies. In the present proposal, the participants are linked in an equivalent way, since the project proposes, mainly, a symmetrical dialogue. (AU)
