FEA-UNICAMP - Annual Application Plan - RTI 2021/2022

Abstract

The resource made available by FAPESP in the form of the Technical Reserve associated with research projects submitted and approved by professors at the Faculty of Food Engineering/UNICAMP in 2021 was R$361,254.82. The purpose of this RTI ANNUAL APPLICATION PLAN - 2022/2021 is to submit the proposal for the application of this resource as approved by the Congregation of the Faculty of Food Engineering - UNICAMP, in its 135th Extraordinary Meeting held on 11/21/2022, and in line with the norms established by FAPESP. The resource will be applied to the purchase of items that will serve the FEA community, including the acquisition of a system for preparing/injecting volatile organic compounds from samples in a gas chromatography (GC) system. This system will be coupled to the CG-MS already installed in the Central Support Laboratory (LAC) of the Faculty of Food Engineering. The LAC is a multi-user laboratory, linked to the Research and Extension Coordinations of FEA and its objective is to provide technical support to the research activities carried out at FEA/UNICAMP and to provide services to external users, including other UNICAMP units, public research institutions and private companies, companies and government agencies. In addition, it is proposed the acquisition of a switch, which is intended to receive and distribute the internet signal throughout the FEA and carry out maintenance, adaptation and certification services for all exhaust hoods in the Faculty's laboratories. FEA currently has five Graduate Programs and 50 professors, in addition to collaborating researchers, who serve approximately 500 graduate students, in a total constructed area of 19,546 m2, of which 12,500 m2 are research laboratories. In the last CAPES evaluation, the Graduate Programs in Food Science and Food Engineering obtained a grade of 7, while the Graduate Programs in Food Technology and Food and Nutrition obtained grades of 5 and 6, respectively. The Doctorate in Bioenergy, from the Multidisciplinary Area of CAPES (USP, UNESP and UNICAMP) was evaluated with a score of 4. It should be noted that FEA has an Institutional Research Support Office (EAIP) and that UNICAMP has an Institutional Policy for Good Practices and Integrity in Research and Open Access to Intellectual and Scientific Production.
