Abstract

The aim of this project is to map the women researchers in Brazil and abroad who are dedicated to the field of studies of literary journalism. On the one hand, it seeks to identify, in an unprecedented way, who they are and how they work, seeking to understand the theoretical, methodological, technical, aesthetic and ethical references used by professionals. On the other hand, in addition to the academic issue, it tries to map the sociodemographic profile, perceive possible intertwining of social markers, such as ethnic-racial, and examine the conditions of academic work and mental health in relation to the fact of belonging or identifying with the female gender. The project is part of the premise of low visibility of female scientific production worldwide in general and in the context of epistemicide of this genre in particular, that is, of the epistemic privilege still found in the male universe in the West. Therefore, it approaches Literary Journalism as a field of study, that is, an academic field of investigation that welcomes inter, trans or pluridisciplinary modes of academic research that moves towards investigations that contemplate, but are not limited to, the analysis of techniques authors, advancing towards more complex and systemic elements, including the social and cultural aspects of professionals in the field. The relevance of the expected results seeks to stimulate, at an international level, in addition to the necessary mapping of the field, the debate on the implications of gender representations and the constructions of femininity in contemporary times.
