Abstract

The objective of this project is to acquisition of an automatic spinner magnetometer (model JR-6A, AGICO) for measurements of remanent magnetization in samples of rocks, sediments and archaeological materials. The availability of this multi-user equipment (EMU) will be of great importance for studies of variations of the geomagnetic field (time scales from a few thousand years), the paleomagnetic field (scales from thousands of years to billions of years) and environmental magnetism in rocks, sediments and archaeological materials. The equipment will be made available to the internal and external academic communities of the UNICAMP. (AU)
