Abstract

Infectious diseases are one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality in patients with kidney disease, including kidney transplanted recipients. The concern with the immunization of this population is even more relevant, the use of immunosuppressive treatment can lead to less efficient immune responses, with lower seroconversion rates, lower antibody titers andshorter duration of protection, compared to healthy individuals. In this context, the present study aims to evaluate the cellular and humoral response to antiSARS-CoV-2 immunization in kidney transplanted patients compared to healthy individuals, and also analyze possible differences in T and B lymphocytes, antibody responses of individuals transplanted using different immunosuppressive medications.
