Annual plan for applying the ITR 2022 budget (base year 2021) in costs related to the research institutional infrastructure.

Abstract

The Federal University of ABC (UFABC) currently offers 26 undergraduate courses. Two of them are Interdisciplinary Bachelors, meanwhile the Other are specific courses. The Center for Engineering, Modeling and Applied Social Sciences (CECS) has 12 courses under its responsibility. The CECS develops interdisciplinary activities in teaching, research and university extension at UFABC. The development of such activities is currently conducted by 363 (three hundred and sixty-three) professors linked to different areas, many of whom are accredited in postgraduate courses, all of them with interdisciplinary profile. The CECS research laboratories are managed by the CECS Permanent Research Commission (CPPCECS), which is composed of two representatives from each course at the Center (one member and one substitute).During the year 2022, a resolution was drawn up by the CPPCECS that began to regulate how RTI-Fapesp resources will be used. It was approved by the CECS Council. The resolution establishes a demands order based on meritocratic research scores, as usual to obtains research funds (number of projects, number of indexed published articles, number of citations, number of books or book chapters published, number of patents, etc.).It was also established that part of the resources will be allocated to the Multiuser Experimental Center (CEM) and the UFABC Bioterium. The CEM has large-scale equipment on both campuses (Santo André and São Bernardo do Campo), and the UFABC Bioterium provides essential support for the biological areas. This entire research infrastructure (Research Laboratories, CEM and Bioterium) generates a continuous demand for diverse materials, allowing the continues uses of the installed equipment for members of the UFABC community (professors, researchers, students of graduation and post-graduation, etc.), and by external researchers. This project corresponds to the planning for the use of the 2022 RTI (base year 2021).
