Abstract

Considering that recent social processes experienced by Brazilian society have made it possible to expand the circulation of peripheral agents through spaces for the consecration of legitimate culture, previously restricted to the elite, this project hypothesizes the configuration of a specific cultural capital modality, which combines everyday experience from the periphery with the incorporation of languages and forms of expression legitimized by instances of consecration. From the analysis of the trajectory of leaders and activists inserted in cultural collectives in cultural collectives on the outskirts of São Paulo and inspired by the prosopographic approach (Bourdieu, 1989; Lebaron, 2012; Jardim & Rosa, 2021), we will seek to investigate if there are and which would be the common devices in their trajectories or the social conditions that led them to acquire this specific type of cultural capital and mobilize it for questioning and criticizing established symbolic boundaries.
