Abstract

The interest in having the professor come is due to his expertise in the development of research on educational systems and the history of sex education in Chile and in other Latin American contexts. The proposal under construction, with the collaboration of Prof. Pablo Astudillo, has as its main objective to know and problematize the sexual and gender policies present in the institutionalized systems of education and protection of children and young people in Latin American countries. In recent decades, the endeavor of conservative movements and governments whose principle is the protection of values founded on the patriarchal family, reinforcing the hegemonic perspective of cisgenderism and heterosexuality in practices of care, protection and education of children and young people. An attempt will be made to analyze documents (laws, norms, projects, programs) that have the purpose of promoting educational actions aimed at behaviors related to the expressions of gender and sexuality of children and young people, as well as those that refer to the protection of children and young people facing situations of violence and violation of rights. For this reason, this proposal also seeks to carry out methodological theoretical considerations for the field of psychology on the studies of childhood and youth and their interfaces with gender and sexualities. It especially seeks to weave relationships and implications on the way in which care and protection policies guaranteeing the rights of children and young people are transversalized by gender and sexuality policies, producing practices and concepts about children and childhood.
