Abstract

In recent years, EESC has been investing heavily on improving the quality and security of IT services used by all EESC researchers, either with the our own budget or with resources from the Information Technology Superintendence (STI-USP) from the University of São Paulo, or with funds from funding agencies, such as FAPESP's Technical Reserve for Institutional Research Infrastructure (RTI). Among some examples of investments in information technology that received funding from FAPESP in recent years, the following could be mentioned: acquisition, installation and expansion of the HP BladeSystem C7000 Server; expansion and improvement of the Wi-Fi signal coverage of the wireless USPnet network in the different buildings of the EESC; modernization of active equipment of local networks (switches, router and firewall) of the EESC and its devices that complement the local network (no-breaks, access points, IP monitoring cameras, access control, VoIP telephony, etc.), air conditioning of the Data Center of EESC, technical assistance and firewall services, among others. Thus, in order to maintain the proper functioning of this IT infrastructure, this plan presents demands related to the acquisition of a new data server, replacing the current and already obsolete BladeSystem (whose acquisition and maintenance was supported with RTI-FAPESP resources).Another demand presented in this plan is the contracting of a fire prevention and firefighting system project, which is of great importance for the safety of our researchers, equipment and research. Finally, we also request that maintenance be carried out on various research equipment in different laboratories, always focusing on the good use of the resources allocated to us. (AU)
