Abstract

The transition to more innovative and sustainable business models is a necessary direction in organizations aiming to align stakeholders' expectations to combat challenges related to climate change and build a collaborative value network aimed at the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Thus, aiming for greater differentiation in the market and greater profitability, typical manufacturing organizations have been using servitization strategies, adding services to the products offered to customers. For this offer, an innovative business model is developed integrating products, services and processes in an interconnected manner to deliver superior value to customers. In this sense, it is necessary to transfer knowledge from current research to organizations, developing the necessary skills so that they can create and implement more innovative and sustainable business models. Considering this scenario, this research project aims to identify aspects related to the servitization of business models and the implementation of sustainable business models integrating product-service systems (Product-Service Systems - PSS) in organizations in Campinas - SP and the region. In this sense, the focus will be on identifying sustainable strategies in product and service offerings that contribute to sustainable development, allowing the proponent to begin the development of research projects, in a line of research not yet explored within the scope of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FEM) from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), and also little highlighted in research on Brazilian companies. In this way, the objective is to collect information both theoretically and empirically regarding this topic, integrating servitization and the development of business models for product-service systems. Therefore, this research project aims to develop and disseminate product-service systems with superior technical, environmental and social quality throughout the entire life cycle (including resources, production, use, post-use and reuse) and multiple cycles of life related to the circular economy, with identification of future actions to expand its dissemination.
