Abstract

The study of the Quark-Gluon Plasma through collisions between heavy ions at relativistic energies is one of the main strategies for a better understanding of the strong interaction and its properties, such as the confinement. Through the study of hard probes, such as heavy quarks (charm and beauty) or jets of particles originated from the hard scattering of partons, a kind of tomography of this medium can be performed, leading to the properties of the QGP. In this project we propose the combination of these two hard probes in the QGP investigation, seeking to measure jets that contain heavy quarks, both in the open state, such as D meson, and in the closed state, the quarkonia.
